Our story so far -

Cantorion Sanctaidd formed in January 2013 when our musical team discovered a mutual interest in rehearsing and performing sacred and spiritually inspiring music such as anthems by John Rutter.  From the outset we have been a group of committed and enthusiastic amateur singers who are prepared to work hard to learn our repertoire but are also able to relax and have fun at the regular social events that we organise.

Over the time that our choir has been running we have performed over many fundraising concerts for churches and charitable causes.  We have also had the opportunity to sing in public spaces including Cwmbran Town Centre, Tredegar House, Tesco Superstore, and to Nightshelter guests at the Salvation Army hall in Newport; and we have run day trips to Gloucester Cathedral, Exeter Cathedral and Shrewsbury Abbey, where we have sung free of charge lunchtime concerts.

We regularly receive feedback that compliments our varied and inspiring programme, our passion for the music that we sing, and our exceptional solo artists.

Our Musical Team.

Richard Price.

Richard started singing at the age of 8 when he joined the church choir at St Hildas, Griffithstown.  He progressed througtht the ranks of team leader and then head chorister until his voice broke and he joined the tenor section.

In 2003 he was given the opportunity to be deputy musical director of Pontypool Male Choir and a few months later he look over as MD.

Caroline Davies

Music has been a large part of Caroline's life from an early age.  She spent her formative years playing oboe in the various ensembles within what is now the Gwent Music Support Service before going on to study music at Birmingham University.

She accompanied Pontypool Male Choir for many years before joining forces with RIchard to establish Cantorion Sanctaidd.

"“This is a huge thank you to you all for the fantastic concert last evening. The music was 'heavenly '.”
